Rattlesnake Ridge Library

Kathy Paul is the full time certified librarian at Rattlesnake Ridge. Grades K-5 come to the library every week for lessons. Lessons are taught in collaboration with classroom teachers and support the Language Arts Standards, the Six Traits, and research skills.

All classes have a weekly checkout time. Wednesday is the checkout day for students in Grade 1-6. Students may also exchange books at any time during the week.

The library is open to students throughout the school day, including lunch recess. They may come to exchange books, read, or do class work. There are also computers they can use for research or to look up books. Students may also come to the library to exchange books before school if they get a pass from the aides on the playground.

The library is sponsoring a school-wide Reading Incentive. Look for class markers on the Reading Incentive display located in the reading area of the library. Classes that read the required number of minutes every month move their marker. All of the classes that reach the final mark by May 9, 2008, will take part in an ice cream party the week of May 12. Make sure your child turns in their reading minutes to their classroom teacher.
